When Shawn and I arrived in Rome in the summer of 2013, we locked up our bags at the train station and spent the day walking around visiting some of the sites before we went out to our hostel. Our hostel was kind of out in the boonies of Rome – but it was a wonderful hostel with a pool and a grocery store. It was definitely worth the 15 Euros or so per night.
We walked around a bit of the city, avoiding the tourist areas, to get our bearings on what we were going to be vising over the next few days. Finally, when we couldn’t walk anymore with it being so warm and us being jet-lagged, we stopped at a great little patio restaurant for our first Italian pizza. It was awesome!
